Distance shall not consume us

Since i've been gone, there's not a day i don't think about all and every single one of you. Those people who have captured, conquered and are the owners of my heart. Since friendship, thus love, is not a feeling, it cannot go away with something as simple as time. It takes a lot more to destroy love, and I believe there are only two ways: that I want to stop loving you, or that you want tu stop loving me. So let's be calm, there's no risk that distance or time will destroy, or even harm, our friendship.

You may tell me that after a while it wouldn't be the same. Well I think that's one of the greatest lies you can tell. It wouldn't be the same if this was what we call friendship nowadays. People often call "friends" the people they hang out with, or the people they party with, or talk to. Is that a friend? Friendship should go way beyond that. I won't try to tell you what a real friend is, because you know it. But try to remember all the characteristics that make ours so special.

First of all, we share our love for God, and therefore the love of God for us. That, more than friends makes us siblings. From there, I can tell that we share a love greater than any trivial or simple sharing of simpaties. Our friendship goes farther than a simple likeness. There's a point (of no return) where the likeness among friends goes in a radical way from "feeling good" or having a good time, to really caring about each other. When someone gets to that point, and i'm sure we have, there could be any barrier possible that you can imagine, and after we meet again, things will be exactly the same.
